Kodoani.com – Netflix announced at its Drop 01 event on Wednesday a new anime series based on the game. Devil May Cry of CAPCOM. This movie will be produced by Adi Shankar (who did Castlevania) and Alex Larsen (who did Yasuke). The two completed writing the script for the first season of the series in November 2021. The series will have multiple seasons, and the first season will consist of eight episodes. The film will include characters such as Dante, Vergil and Lady. There is currently no information on an official release date, but some sources from IGN say the show is expected to begin production in 2022.
Adi Shankar announced the acquisition of the Devil May Cry series in November 2018 and stated that the series would enter a “bootleg multiverse” alongside Castlevania.
Previously, the game Devil May Cry was adapted for a 12-episode anime television series produced by Madhouse in 2007.
The game Devil May Cry 5 was released in March 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, then had a special version for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in 2020. This series of games has also inspired for novels, manga, and a play in collaboration with Sengoku Basara. Additionally, in March 2019, there was a live stage play titled “A Devil May Cry: Live Hacker” that took place in Tokyo.
