After many years of absence, NRG officially returned to the LCS with an impressive pitch when becoming the new owner of CLG.
In the past few days, information about the situation of Counter Logic Gaming – CLG has caused a stir in the LCS region. Many rumors about CLG’s new owners who are famous faces like Sentinels, MrBeast, … have been released but there is still no confirmed news.

Until recently, the new owner of CLG was officially revealed and it is not a strange name but – NRG, the team that has been absent from the LCS for many years. NRG’s representative – CEO Andy Miller said that NRG will acquire the entire CLG roster and everything related to this League of Legends team including infrastructure, Challengers roster, LCS roster, coaching staff. Train with coaches, analysts, etc.
Although it has returned to NRG, the old name CLG is unlikely to be changed this season because the rebranding process needs to go through a number of requirements and policies from Riot Games and it takes some time. The new NRG can completely stabilize what they just bought.

In the same announcement, CEO Andy Miller also revealed that there are plans to completely change the brand to NRG in the near future. However, the NRG team does not deny the past and still pays a certain respect to the heritage that CLG has built such as designing a new shirt with a blue color similar to CLG for its team.
