The reveal in Chapter 193 implies that Saitama is a God-level threat, capable of fulfilling Shibabawa's prophecy.
Warning: Spoilers for the redrawn version of chapter #193 (JP) of One-Punch ManSaitama have been released in almost Man one punch while also possessing such disproportionately great power that it evokes some mystery to the series. Although Caped Baldy has long had a low status within the Hero Association, this may soon change following recent revelations. One-Punch Man is still a comedy series but has dark potential in future manga chapters.
However, new threats continue to emerge as each story arc threatens to overwhelm the previous one, with ever-increasing existential threats to humanity. In the case of One-Punch Man, the assumption has always been that the next villain will inevitably be the proverbial bigger fish. However, readers can expand the scope of threats to include the heroes as One-Punch Man explores one of the series' greatest mysteries.
Saitama's strength is respected, but there is a catch
One of the biggest mysteries in One-Punch Man appreciates how trustworthy Saitama is
Unearthed in the redrawn One-Punch Man chapter 193, Saitama's recent battle with Garou reveals the truth about Caped Baldy's power to the Hero Association. Blast reveals that Garou's wrath may be the subject of the last prophecy left by seer Shibabawa before her death: “The Earth is in danger!”. However, while Blast and Sitch worry about Garou's potential threat to Earth if he does not lose, their attention turns to Saitama after his battle.. Saitama confronts Garou, surpassing his limits even though Garou is considered a God-level threat.
One-Punch Man has two chapter numbering systems, one based on the system published in volumes and one based on online chapters. There is a difference between numbering due to redrawn chapters and merging/splitting. Tonari, the online magazine published by One-Punch Man, has a different chapter numbering pattern that increases with each update.
Sitch and Blast mull over these events and realize that, although there is no inherent malice, there is nothing they can do to stop him if he turns his back on humanity. This also makes it clear that Blast still remembers the outcome of the battle between Saitama and Garou, despite Saitama turning back time with his “zero punch”. Luckily, Saitama is known for being easily bored and will never bow to his darker ambitions. However, the mystery of his powers is just one piece of the puzzle in One-Punch Man, with the grim realization of an important prophecy.
The long-standing prophecy of One-Punch Man may finally become clear
Shibabawa's prediction may not concern Garou but instead, Saitama is an apocalyptic threat
In Chapter 28, Shibabawa gave an ominous prophecy to the Hero Association before choking on a cough. With the escalating threats in One-Punch Man having surpassed the level of Demons and Dragons, Garou appears to be the final and greatest danger to the planet, according to Blast, but he has could have been wrong. The panel shows Sitch wondering “what the hell” Caped Baldy is, right after the part with Blast confirming that “Earth is in danger” and recalling the planet-shattering clash with Garou, apparently a hint that Saitama's power could, indirectly, become the true danger Shibabawa prophesied.
What's more worrying is that, in the rewrite, the extraordinary S-Class hero Genos will likely rush to Saitama's aid, or so Sitch and Blast assume, bringing Genos' loyalty into question. Although Blast and other top heroes still rank higher than Genos, Saitama will still be the more significant threat. Nothing in this arc suggests that Saitama will follow this path, so the prophecy about him is far from a foregone conclusion in One-Punch Man, and for now fans can consider the conclusion Blast's argument is taken at face value.
