One of Overwatch 2’s best support characters with sturdy armor, Brigitte is not easy for newbies, don’t worry Game4V will guide you how to play this character.
Despite being a new character in Overwatch 2, Brigitte is a Hero of the reliable support class. However, she is also a bit tricky to learn. Unlike other supports, Brigitte rushes right into the action with her shield and mace that allows her to deal consistent damage, even creating some tank-style gaps. Her ult makes her a great utility pick and provides a significant boost to her team in the fight.
Of course, Brigitte was quite outspoken. However, it really takes a lot of depth to play her at a higher level. To get the best performance from her, players will need to have positional knowledge as well as team awareness. For players who want to feel like a knight in the thick of battle, helping their teammates and healing their friends, Brigitte is a wise choice.
Brigitte’s main attack is her iconic rocket mace. In addition to dealing consistent damage to enemies near her, Brigitte’s mace can also hit multiple enemies at once. Of course, this gives her a very valuable weapon in close-range teamfights. This means that Brigitte’s play requires bridging the gap between herself and the target. Luckily, she has methods for doing so. Brigitte’s secondary ability is her shield. Similar to Reinhardt’s, but smaller and more personal, Brigitte’s shield provides limited protection to her and her allies. However, it is likely her most important tool. When unfolded, her shield will replace her original flame with a shield that will help her travel a distance. More importantly, this ability allows her to reposition herself, deliver a finishing blow, or even stun Reinhardt instantly.
Brigitte is a support character, and as such, brings some healing to the board. Her repair pack heals allies from a distance. However, unlike other healing abilities, she only has three abilities before they need to be recharged. So spamming them all on one target is usually not in the best interest of the player. Her passive ability, Inspire, also heals allies when she damages enemies.
Brigitte’s third ability is whip. Giving herself some range, Brigitte unleashes her mace in a straight line, hitting a single opponent. This skill is very important to finish off enemies with low health or make them fly off the cliff leading to their death. Learning how to correctly use the whip can be the difference between securing and taking down or creating space for Brigitte and her team. Finally, Brigitte’s ultimate ability is Rally. This is her ability to play tricks. It increases her and her allies’ attack and movement speed, and temporarily increases the health of the whole team. This ability, used at the right time, can really turn the fight in the player’s favor. It can also help keep your team alive in the heat of battle.
The best way to use Brigitte effectively is to place her close enough around the squad, close enough to counter enemies, but also close enough to teammates to ensure that they benefit from Brigitte’s passive. As mentioned, the interesting thing about Brigitte is that with the right placement, she can become a tank even though she’s not as powerful as a tank. She has the ability to minimize damage with her shield, create space for teammates with her attacks, and deal with multiple enemies at once with her rather powerful mace.
However, in terms of teamfights, it’s important to note that Brigitte doesn’t have the health of a tank. As such, she is easily targeted by DPS characters. For teamfights, Brigitte should be the striker and center. Of course, this will keep her passive useful and keep her within reach of all her allies to heal. Also, it allows her to create a bit of space by attacking enemies within range as well as letting everyone nearby to join the Rally.
