Supercell recently announced an update on access to its games in two countries, Russia and Belarus.
There are already a few Supercell mobile games that will no longer be available in Russia and Belarus. In a new update on its official website, Supercell has announced that it will block access to its games for players from Russia and Belarus until June 1.

“In response to the ongoing war in Ukraine, Supercell has proceeded to remove its games from the app stores in Russia and Belarus,” the statement read. “Access to all Supercell games for existing users from Russia and Belarus will be suspended in the spring of 2023 by prior decision.”

This announcement is a bit different from the announcement Supercell made in March 2022 when it removed its games from the App Store and Google Play Store. At the time, the Finnish game development company noted that “access for existing players will be suspended with further client updates”.

Russian and Belarusian users will still be able to play Clash of Clans, Hay Day and other titles despite the limitations mentioned above by Supercell. Last April, Brawl Stars became the first Supercell game that was not available for the two aforementioned countries. Earlier this March, the company also suspended access to Clash of Clans, which started showing “login failed” messages to players from Russia and Belarus. Gamers have been trying to get around this restriction by using VPN services, but some accounts have been permanently banned for “intent to defraud the account”.
