Kodoani.com – Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced a new 3D arena game for the Bleach series called “Bleach: Rebirth of Souls” at the Anime Expo panel on Friday. Bandai Namco Entertainment describes the game as focusing on “the series' signature sword combat.” The game will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
The game's story and characters will cover content from the original manga, starting from the “Substitute Soul Reaper” chapter through the “Arrancar” chapter.
Bandai Namco Entertainment America describes the game as follows:
“Awaken the blade and change your destiny in BLEACH: REBIRTH OF SOULS. Engage in action-packed battles with iconic characters from the legendary anime series such as Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryu Ishida, and Yasutora Sado (Chad). Players will be able to use special swordsmanship abilities like Bankai and unlock new forms in battle to defeat their opponents.”
While Bandai Namco Entertainment has not announced a specific release date, they said the 20th anniversary of the Bleach anime “inspired” the game's development. Katsuaki Tsuzuki will serve as producer for the game.
KLab has released an action RPG game “Bleach: Brave Souls” for iOS and Android devices in Japan in July 2015 and released globally in January 2016. The game was released on PC in August 2020, excluding mainland China. KLab also released the game on PlayStation 4 in March 2022 and recently on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on June 27. The game will be released on Switch in the near future.
Other mobile games in the Bleach series include “Bleach: Immortal Soul,” “Bleach: Paradise Lost,” “BLEACH Kyo・Kai-Tamashinokakusei: Shinigami” (Bleach: Boundary Awakened Souls – Shinigami) và “Bleach: Soul Rising,” were released in March 2020, September 2017, November 2018, and September 2020, respectively.
KLab is also developing a brand new hybrid game (combining the simplicity of a casual game with the mechanics of an online game) based on the Bleach manga and anime series.
Anime “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War” The first episode (a quarter-year) premiered in October 2022 and concluded in December 2022 with a one-hour special, combining episodes 12 and 13. Viz Media is streaming the anime on Hulu in the United States, while Disney+ streams it internationally and Ani-One Asia streams it in many Asian countries. The second episode of the anime premiered in July 2023 on Hulu in the United States, Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ internationally. Season three “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Conflict” will air in 2024.
The anime will span four seasons, with each season interspersed with a break. “Thousand-Year Blood War” covers the final arc of the original manga, from volumes 55 to 74.
