Kodoani.com – Shueisha's January 2025 issue of Grand Jump Mucha magazine has announced that Yoko Nihonbashi, the author of the famous manga Shōjo Fightwill release a new work titled Rōgoku the cat (Cafe Prison) in the magazine's next issue, scheduled for release on February 26.
Kissa Rōgoku revolves around Komori, a novelist who lives in seclusion and avoids society, until a strange cafe owner appears before her. This unexpected meeting promises to bring great changes in both of their lives.
Previously, on October 26, Nihonbashi revealed that she is planning a new series scheduled to launch next year, while continuing to release Shōjo Fight. According to the announcement, Shōjo Fight will be prioritized and released on a bi-monthly schedule until the end, in parallel with the release of new works.
Nihonbashi launched Shōjo Fight in Kodansha's Evening magazine in 2005. The manga attracted widespread attention for its story of the emotional struggles and competition of female volleyball players. The 18th volume of the series was published by Kodansha in January 2022, and the English version of the volume was also released by Kodansha USA Publishing in May of the same year. The manga was bundled with an anime DVD with the sixth volume in October 2009.
After Evening ceased publication in February 2023, Shōjo Fight moved to the Comic Days platform and continued to release sporadically. With preparations for both Shōjo Fight and Kissa Rōgoku, Yoko Nihonbashi promises to bring many exciting stories to readers in the near future.
