The author plans to move Shōjo Fight to a bi-monthly release schedule until the end of the series
Kodoani.com – Manga author Shōjo Fight, Yoko Nihonbashi, announced on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday that they are planning a new series to launch next year, parallel to Shōjo Fight. However, Nihonbashi also shared that Shōjo Fight will be prioritized with a plan to release regularly every two months until completed.
Shōjo Fight: Story and passion for volleyball
Shōjo Fight, published in English by Kodansha, revolves around Neri Oishi, a fifteen-year-old girl who is passionate about volleyball but chooses not to make friends. Neri is a member of the volleyball team of Hakuunzan Private Middle School, famous for training excellent athletes. Even though he once led his elementary school team to second place at the national tournament, Neri hid this ability and tried to restrain himself. The series reveals the inner conflicts and reasons why Neri still pursues volleyball despite intending to give up. This is a dramatic story about volleyball and team spirit.
Nihonbashi launched Shōjo Fight in Kodansha's Evening magazine in 2005, with volume 18 released in January 2022. The work took a six-month hiatus in 2020 due to the author's health. Currently, after Evening stopped publishing in February 2023, Shōjo Fight was moved to the Comic Days platform and released without a fixed schedule.
This series not only attracted attention through its deep plot but also thanks to a bonus anime DVD in the sixth volume in October 2009. The series continues to maintain its appeal with readers through the Comic Days platform , promises a new emotional journey as it approaches its conclusion in the future.
