Hiro Tōge launches a gourmet fantasy manga adaptation on December 26
Kodoani.com – Kadokawa's 25th issue of Young Dragon Age magazine announced on Monday that Hiro Tōge will launch a manga adaptation of the novel series Eiyū Sonogo no Second Life: Shikashi Kodomo ni Ryōri wo Furumau no wa Tanoshii kamo na (Hero's Second Life: But It Might Be Fun to Cook for Kids) by author Yūri Shibamura. The series will appear in the magazine's next issue on December 26.
The story has fantasy colors and interwoven culinary elements revolving around a naval admiral, revered as a hero with the nickname Sword of Alba. After being sent to study at a military academy by order of his country, he accidentally met a fairy and this made him change his direction. Instead of going to a military academy, he decided to study at an Elven academy. Here, he not only adapted to the new environment but also discovered the joy of cooking for young children.
Yūri Shibamura launched the novel series on the Kakuyomu website in November 2023. Kadokawa released the first light novel volume with illustrations by Yoshinori Shizuma on April 25 and the second volume on September 25.
Previously, Shibamura launched the novel series Marginal Operation published by Kodansha in February 2012, also with illustrations by Yoshinori Shizuma. This novel series was later adapted into a manga in Afternoon magazine in 2013 in collaboration with artist Daisuke Kimura and ended in January 2021.
