A beautiful collection Hunter X Hunter Fan art confirms the series' most potential pairing, but not in the way fans think. Hunter X Hunter remains one of the most well-rounded series on the anime and manga market today. Like other industry giants like One Piece, Yoshihiro Togashi's series is colorful, silly, and family-friendly. However, in addition to its light-hearted, overarching adventure storyline, Hunter X Hunter also contains some surprisingly dark themes like Kite's death and Killua's struggles with past abuse.
The Hunter X Hunter manga is currently in its ninth arc as of September 2024. The Succession Content arc (also known as the Succession War arc) once again follows Kurapika on his quest to retrieve the last remaining pair of Scarlet Eyes taken from his deceased clan members. The arc has received positive reviews from fans, with some ranking it alongside the series' most iconic storyline, the Chimera Ant arc.
Since March 2006, Togashi has been on an abrupt and lengthy hiatus due to severe back pain, which forced him to undergo a very serious surgery in 2014. However, Togashi has persevered and continued to release manga chapters for his current arc. Along with Kurapika, Melody, a music hunter introduced in the YorkNew City arc, has returned. As her role in the series has become more important, old artwork of Kurapika and Melody has started to reappear, describes them as the couple with the best potential in the series.

Artist Sayoko Hints at the Relationship Kurapika x Melody Fans Deserve
In a beautiful collection of works depicting Kurapika and Melody's relationshipPixiv artist Sayoko created a beautiful image for those wondering what would happen if Melody returned to her old self. During his time as a bodyguard for Nostrade, Kurapika met Melody, a Music Hunter who also joined Nostrade's security team with an ulterior motive. Her goal was to find and destroy the “Sonata of Darkness”, a piece of music said to have been composed by the Devil himself. Upon hearing this piece, Melody's friend died from severe mutilation. While Melody survived, her appearance had changed significantly and her skin was severely damaged.
However, in Sayoko's collection of artwork, she gives HxH fans a glimpse into what she believes Melody would look like if she achieved her goal of returning to her former self. Not only is Melody gorgeous, but Sayoko's art also explains how Kurapika and Melody would work well as friends, or perhaps even more. Kurapika's quiet, hard-working personality pairs perfectly with Melody's soothing voice and amazing musical ability.
Will Kurapika and Melody become an official couple in Hunter x Hunter?
Togashi proved that these two hunters were destined for more than fans thought.
In New York City, Kurapika and Melody share several vulnerable moments, most notably on the rooftop, sharing their pasts and goals as Nostrade bodyguards. Melody shares her story of being cursed in her appearance. Surprisingly, Kurapika almost immediately denies her story, questioning the existence of such a sonata that could curse the listener just by hearing a short excerpt. In response, Melody lifts up her sleeve, revealing her skin condition to Kurapika, which visibly shocks him.
Now that the two characters are back again in the latest installment of Hunter x Hunter, it's more likely than ever that Sayoko's concept art will become a reality. Hunter x Hunter is not a romance anime. However, Togashi has proven time and time again that his series is more than just a typical Shonen anime. Fans of Kurapika and Melody can only hope that as the two achieve their goals, a budding relationship becomes the focus of their plot.
Until then, Hunter x Hunter The fandom can enjoy beautiful fanart of Sayoko, affirming that Kurapika and Melody are indeed the most potential couple of the series.
