After a month of working with lawyers as well as administrators of League of Legends forums in Korea, T1 officially filed a lawsuit to protect Faker.
A month ago, Faker became a fiercely attacked name in the Korean LoL community. Even T1’s lawyer had to contact forums (such as DCInside) to ask to delete posts aimed at Faker, and ask the administrator of this forum to provide information (commenting accounts). for the purpose of working with the court. This incident has attracted many international League of Legends gamers for a long time.
Up to today, “APEX Law LLC has filed on behalf of Faker, a member of T1’s League of Legends team, a lawsuit(s) against those who made malicious, negative comments against Faker under Article 311 of the Criminal Act. “
Accordingly, those who have publicly insulted Faker on social networking platforms may “be punished by imprisonment or detention for not more than 1 year, or by a fine of not more than 2 million Won (about 35 million VND)”.
Although the developments and results of this lawsuit are unknown, many gamers commented that the impact of the lawsuit will limit the insults aimed at Faker as well as many other Esports players in Korea.
