This is the second film in the series to earn more than 10 billion yen, but Case Closed: The Million-dollar Pentagram reached the mark two days faster than Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine.
Detective Conan is currently the first Japanese animation franchise to have two consecutive films surpass 10 billion yen in revenue in Japan.
The movie “Detective Conan: Hyakuman Doru no Michishirube” is not only a special movie with great sales on its first day of release, but also the 27th movie of the Detective Conan series. This is the first film in the series to have a midnight screening and is being shown in 515 theaters across Japan, with the largest number of screenings in the franchise's history. The film also screened in IMAX in 50 theaters, MX4D in 14 theaters, 4DX in 64 theaters and Dolby Cinema in eight theaters.
