The Admirals in One Piece are the powerhouse of the Navy. They are some of the strongest characters in the series and pirates will always avoid clashing with them. However, there is an Admiral who sides with the Straw Hats.
To learn more deeply about the world of One Piece, in addition to reading manga, fans can also read SBS (Shitsumon o Bosh Suru, meaning I am wondering).
This is a special section highlighting Eiichiro Oda's answers to fan question letters on many different topics. The questions are mostly about the series and things people find confusing, but they could be about anything.
One Piece Volume 110 will be released on November 1, 2024 and brings a new set of Eiichiro Oda Q&A. The questions and answers were translated and shared by a popular One Piece fan account on Twitter/X.
One of the questions reads as follows: “In chapter 1103, Luffy was so hungry that he couldn't move, but in chapter 1106, he was full. Who gave Luffy food?”
Oda mysteriously replied, “In chapter 1103, Luffy started devouring food. When Luffy said “food”, who answered? Was it Sanji or Franky, who was present near him? Kizaru and Setoumaru was also there…
No matter who did it, it never seemed to be discovered. That action seemed to be performed at the 'speed of light', invisible even to the naked eye. Um… even I don't know who did it… Speed of light…”
While Oda is avoiding a direct answer, the implication behind “speed of light” is quite clear. Sanji and Kizaru are both extremely fast, so fast that a normal person cannot see them with the naked eye.
However, there is only one character in One Piece who is related to light, and that is Admiral Kizaru, thanks to eating the Pika Pika no Mi devil fruit.
The theory about Kizaru helping Luffy has been circulating in the community since the manga chapters were released. Not only was Kizaru forced to take Vegapunk's life for the sake of the mission, but he also fought Sentoumaru, whom he had watched grow up since he was a child. As a result, Admiral Yellow Monkey's inner conflicts hindered his mission.
In the scene where Luffy is eating, a half bowl with chopsticks is also shown, showing that someone else is also eating there. That bowl is the same style as Kizaru's bowl from the previous chapter. Kizaru's help of Luffy, a Yonko and one of the Five Elder Stars' targets, was a serious betrayal of the World Government.
Kizaru's location remains unknown after his emotional call with Akainu in chapter 1124. However, Oda certainly has big plans for the Admirals as they continue to be an important part of the story .
