A wealthy 65-year-old Indonesian man and his 19-year-old bride are said to have divorced after two months of marriage.
The man, Haji Sondani and his bride, Fia Barlanti, were married on May 18 in West Java, Indonesia.
After the wedding, the two performed Umrah, a Muslim pilgrimage to Haji, and immediately after the ceremony they visited Mecca with the bride’s family. It is known that Mr. Haji also paid for the Barlanti family’s travel expenses. He also bought Barlanti a house and a car after the two had lived together during the same period.
Recently, an Instagram post from Indonesian social networking site Underc0ver.id on August 3 confirmed that the two have divorced.
A person claiming to be Haji’s neighbor said the 65-year-old has been ill since the divorce.
Information about the couple ‘bride and groom’ in Indonesia was spread in May because the age gap between them and the bride’s dowry is RM149,346.15 (equivalent to 800 million VND).
Netizens outside and inside Malaysia all expressed their sympathy for Haji and Fia. The reason behind the couple’s divorce is still unknown.
