Bungo Stray Dogs is definitely an underrated series, mainly because it’s under the Seinen umbrella. It would definitely be an all-time groundbreaking series if it were Shonen. Regardless, it still attracted millions of viewers and that’s why it was renewed for five more seasons.
At first, Bungo Stray Dogs seems like a light movie that can be watched for entertainment. However, as you go deeper, you will be overwhelmed with some dark and grim circumstances, including the deaths of several important characters. Well, the fifth season of the series is no different.
Dazai’s dark fate in the series was painful to see in the penultimate episode, and the final episode was equally devastating for him and several other characters. However, the ending of season 5 doesn’t seem to be the end of the series, so apparently fans think there will be Bungo Stray Dogs Season 6.
Will there be Bungo Stray Dogs Season 6?
As of September 2023, Studio Bones has not yet been officially confirmed Bungo Stray Dogs Season 6.
Season 5 of Bungo Stray Dogs was confirmed not long after Season 4 ended – however, things won’t be the same this time. It looks like Season 5 of Bungo Stray Dogs has caught up with the manga. To date, the manga has a total of 110 chapters and the fifth part of the series has covered the events in all of these chapters. So don’t expect the series to return to your screens any time soon Bungo Stray Dogs Season 6.
The 10th episode of Season 5 adapts the events from chapter 108, so the series doesn’t even have enough source material for a finale. In fact, the manga is at a point where we don’t have an exact ending to the battle that’s been going on lately. So, like anime fans, manga readers are also clueless about the latest events.
Unlike most other Shonen series, Bungo Stray Dogs releases new chapters every month. Therefore, it will take several years for the manga to have enough chapters for the new season.
