For those unfamiliar with Yuto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki's previous work, Food Wars! has branched out into another popular series before, with the One Piece collaboration, Shokugeki no Sanji. In the series, familiar characters from various One Piece storylines enjoy the unbelievably delicious dishes of Food Wars inspired by the land beyond the Grand Line. Kinnikuman can expect a similar treatment from the creators of Shokugeki no Soma, especially when collaborating with the creator of Kinnikuman.
What this means for Kinnikuman should be obvious, as its characters are empowered through food, such as Suguru growing into a kaiju after eating garlic. The prospect of delicious food being prepared for these characters, either for power or enjoyment, is funny, as it could replace previous product placement references like Yoshinoya beef bowls or Morinaga cocoa. But with characters like Bibimba and Donburi Girl appearing, Shun Saeki's penchant for fan service could also come into play, making Kinnikuman x Shokugeki no Soma The collaboration is an event not to be missed.
