As Dragon Ball Daima prepares to make its television debut next month, more news about the production is trickling out, including the release of a key trailer last week. Now, some brand new character designs have been revealed for the first time.
New animation designs for Gomah, Degesu, and Dr. Arinsu have now been released via the official Dragon Ball website. While Gomah's existence was already known from previously released footage and separate character avatars, Degesu and Dr. Arinsu are new additions to the cast, having only been revealed very briefly previously. The new artwork, based on designs by the late Akira Toriyama, can be seen below.

The site also announced who will be voicing each of these characters. Gomah will be voiced by Showtaro Morikubo (Bleach's Tensa Zangetsu, Naruto's Shikamaru Nara). Degesu will be voiced by Junya Enoki (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's Panacotta Fugo, Jujutsu Kaisen's Yuji Itadori). Finally, Yoko Hikasa will be voicing Dr. Arinsu (The Devil Is a Part-Timer's Emi Yusa/Emilia Justina, High School DxD's Rias Gremory). Each of the newly announced cast members has been given official commentary, which can also be viewed in the gallery above.
Dragon Ball Daima reveals ED theme song and artist
Rounding out the announcements is the reveal of Dragon Ball Daima’s ED theme, titled “NAKAMA” and performed by AI, with composition and lyrics by Grammy-winning music artist and DJ Zedd. AI’s comments about being chosen to perform the ED show the singer-songwriter’s excitement for the role. Just last week, it was revealed that Zedd would also produce Daima’s OP theme, “Jaka Jyaan,” in collaboration with C&K.
Dragon Ball Daima will be creator Akira Toriyama's final involvement with the franchise before his death earlier this year — he was heavily involved in the concept, storyline, and original character designs. Daima is scheduled to premiere in Japan on October 11, 2024, with an overseas digital release date yet to be announced.
