The first of four episodes will be available for free on YouTube on Wednesday.
Kodoani.com – On Tuesday, the website for the Mr. Osomatsu anime revealed a four-episode “super short anime” to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Mr. Osomatsu fan club. The anime will be exclusive to fan club members, but the first episode titled “Otsuki-mi” (Moon Viewing) will be available for free on the anime's official YouTube channel on Wednesday at 6:06 p.m. JST (5:06 a.m. EDT).
Additionally, it has been announced that the Mr. Osomatsu anime will have a fourth season.
Mr. Osomatsu is inspired by Fujio Akatsuka's original Osomatsu-kun manga, which revolves around the Matsuno family and their six mischievous sextuplets. The original story, Osomatsu-kun, followed the six brothers when they were children, while Mr. Osomatsu puts them in an adult setting, keeping the familiar mischievous humor.
The Mr. Osomatsu anime has had three seasons released in 2015, 2017, and 2020, along with a film in 2019. The series has also spawned several animated shorts and a live-action film. In June 2021, two new limited-run films were announced: Osomatsu-san Hipipo-Zoku to Kagayaku Kajitsu (released in July 2022) and Osomatsu-san: Tamashii no Takoyaki Party to Densetsu no Otomari-kai (released in July 2023).
Additionally, Matsuinu, a product line inspired by the anime, also had a short animated series that debuted last October.
