Kodoani.com – Manga author Yuu Watase announced on her Twitter account on Monday that she only has two chapters left to sketch out the manga’s layout. Arata: The Legend (Arata Kangatari).
Watase’s post doesn’t necessarily mean that the manga has two more chapters to go, as Watase may be starting to design drafts for the final chapters ahead of time. For example, Hajime Isayama outlined the layout for the final chapter of Attack on Titan in 2018, but the manga has ended until 2021.
Arata: The Legend entered its final arc in March earlier this year.
The manga returned after a six-year hiatus in Weekly Shonen Sunday in May 2021. The manga went on hiatus in 2015. The manga moved to Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry website in May 2022.
Watase said on Twitter in December 2020 that she could solidify the rest of the plot for the manga.
In a mythical world where humans and gods coexist, Arata is unlucky enough to have the honor of being the successor to the matrilineal Hime Clan. This means he has to pretend to be a girl or face death if his true gender is discovered! On the day of his inauguration, an assassination plot forces him to go on the run – and somehow, he ends up in modern-day Japan! Meanwhile, a boy named Arata Hinohara is sucked into the world of Arata first and finds himself having to deal with everything.
The manga was adapted into a 12-episode anime in 2013.
