When Kurama was revived in Himawari, Boruto The fandom was completely caught off guard. While she was an interesting side character, there was nothing in the story that suggested she would eventually become one of its strongest characters – or so the fandom thought. In fact, in Boruto: Naruto Next Generation, author Masashi Kishimoto revealed a lot about Himawari's potential as a host that most readers missed.
For most of the series, Himawari Uzumaki is nothing more than Boruto's annoying little sister. Despite showing signs of incredible potential—such as the time she knocked out her father when he tried to get to Boruto after he ripped off the head of her doll—no one in Konoha saw her as having the potential to become a great shinobi. Everyone seemed to be protective of her and keep her out of harm's way. However, the series' timeskip has given the youngest child of the Seventh Hokage a major boost in power.
Himawari – The Quiet Girl Who Was Destined to Be Great
Boruto's sister, Himawari always had the potential to surpass him.
Many fans were surprised when Jura, the sentient leader of the God Trees, took an interest in Himawari. However, a bigger shock came in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #9, when Kurama, the strongest Tailed Beast, was revived inside her. From a plot perspective, it seems puzzling that Himawari would gain such great power, considering how little she had been involved in the story up until that point. This development raises many questions unless there is a previously dropped hint or explanation that reveals why Himawari was chosen for this important role.
As revealed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #10, Kurama stated that while there is no exact explanation for how a Tailed Beast is reincarnated, its revival in Himawari was likely influenced by her unique traits. These traits include the fact that Naruto undeniably transferred some of Kurama's chakra to Himawari, a trait that Boruto also shares. More importantly, Kurama hinted that Himawari's unique combination of Namikaze, Uzumaki, and Hyuga blood may set her apart from the other residents of Konoha.
Originally sealed within Naruto, Kurama sacrificed itself in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter #55 to give Naruto the power he needed to defeat Isshiki Otsutsuki. At the time, there was much discussion in the Boruto community about whether Kurama could be resurrected, but few knew if this was possible or – if it was possible – whether it could even be reborn as a human.
Kishimoto has hinted before that there is something special about Himawari.. In fact, Kurama's comment about her unique bloodline is not a new concept in the story. Kishimoto has previously emphasized her unique DNA. During the incident where Himawai knocked out Naruto while chasing Boruto, she activated her Byakugan and used it effectively to find Boruto. The Byakugan is a dojutsu unique to the Hyuga Clan – it allows the user to see through walls. Furthermore, knocking out Naruto at such a young age and without any training suggests that she inherited her physical strength from her grandfather Minato Namikaze.
Kurama was able to be revived right after the battle between Naruto and Isshiki.
Signs that Kurama has been with Himawari longer than it appears
Trong Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chap #77, Kishimoto basically revealed that Kurama has been reincarnated and is now inside Himawari. In this chapter, Boruto is tasked with taking care of Eida, who has just arrived in Konoha after separating from Code. At some point, Eida's younger brother, Daemon, who can sense the power level of others, suddenly runs out of the store where Eida is shopping and scans the crowd of passersby.
Upon discovering Himawari, whom he had never met before, Daemon jumped towards her and demanded to know who she was. He pretended to hit her but was shocked when she did not react. If she reacted, Daemon, who had the ability to mimic his opponents' reactions, even if they only thought about it, would be able to know her true power level. Boruto intervened and restrained him, explaining that Himawari was not an enemy but his sister.

Boruto made it clear that Himawari was not a shinobi and did not know how to fight. At the time, it was easy to explain this incident as Daemon sensing the latent power that Kishimoto had hinted Himawari always had. Additionally, her failure to react to his attack was interpreted by fans as her lack of combat experience; having never fought anyone before, she would not have known how to react other than to flinch, which she did.
Himawari is always the perfect choice to nurture a reincarnated Kurama.
Her close bond with Kurama gives her younger Uzumaki more to do in Two Blue Vortex.
It's now clear that what Daemon sensed was Kurama. He was reincarnated within Himawari. That's the “intensity” he sensed. It's also clear that as a tailed beast, Kurama probably sensed Daemon's abilities and overpowered Himawari's reaction to hide the fact that he had returned. Of course, in retrospect it was obvious, but there were some clues that the specific interactions between Daemon, Himawari, and Boruto hinted at Kurama being reincarnated within her.
Overall, these clues suggest that Kurama hasn't been absent from the Boruto storyline for long.
First, Kishimoto is not known for providing random details in his stories; every bit of information usually serves a purpose or has a practical effect. Second, in a village filled with overwhelmingly powerful residents, Daemon somehow discovers that Himawari's power is so great that he feels compelled to search for her. Taken as a whole, these clues clearly indicate that Kurama has not been absent in Boruto long story
