Kodoani.com – Akane Shimizuauthor of Cells at Work!, will release a new short manga series titled Yellow Flame in Good! Afternoon February 2025 issue, scheduled for release on January 7. According to information from the magazine, the manga will have a theme “special powers, China and thrilling action”promises a completely new style compared to her previous work.

Akane Shimizu once made a big splash with the manga Cells at Work! (Hataraku Saibō), revolves around the story of the personification of cells in the human body.
The original manga debuted on March 2015 in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine and ends on January 2021. Kodansha USA Publishing published the English version of the manga and its side stories: Cells at Work: Code Black! Cells at Work! Baby Cells at Work! Lady Cells at Work! White Brigade, and many other works.
Anime adaptation of Cells at Work! released the first part on July 2018part two enters January 2021along with the anime spinoff Cells at Work! Code Black.
Live-action adaptation is coming soon
A live-action film adaptation of the original manga Cells at Work! and spinoff Cells at Work! Code Black will launch in Japan on the day December 13, 2024. The film promises to deliver a story that combines both works in a closely linked content.
