Introduced in Amazing Fantasy #15 in 1962 by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Fans got their first look at Spider-Man's upcoming iconic costume design on a comic cover that has gone down in history as one of the most legendary and famous pieces of artwork in all of Marvel Comics.Gohan's superhero identity, the Great Saiyaman, meanwhile, emerged when he believed his city needed to be saved from the criminals who were constantly harassing its citizens, following in the heroic but sometimes cheesy footsteps of Web-Head himself.
In honor of Spider-Man and the cover of Amazing Fantasy #15 magazine he appeared on almost exactly as it was first presented, The Empire anime illustrates Gohan wearing the Great Saiyaman suit as he flies through the city in the same pose that Spider-Man did. about 60 years ago. Calling this issue “Sparking Fantasy,” Anime Empire tweaked small details to fit this new anime setting, including getting approval from the “Anime Code Parody,” a riff on the infamous “Comics Code Authority.” What’s more, Anime Empire swapped out the person Spidey fights with Mr. Satan himself, Hercule, adding a little bit of fun that fans might appreciate.
Gohan's Great Saiyaman Becomes Part of Marvel Comics in Fanart Cover Homage
To round things off, Anime Empire cleverly edited one of Spider-Man's text bubbles to read “…soon he will be amazed by the awesome power of… Saiya-Man!” and even added a hyphen to keep up with Spidey's naming convention for added authenticity. It's a dream come true to see Gohan escape the world of Dragon Ball and entered the Marvel Universe, with his creations taking over Spider-Man any number of iconic comic book covers of the character are something that Anime Empire (@animeempirestudios) needs to further develop into a manga series, or as teased, a complete fan-made Great Saiyaman manga!
