What happened in Kaiju #8 Episode #11
Produced by Production IG; Directed by Ayataka Tanemura
Kaiju No. 8 episode #11, “Captured Kaiju No. 8,” follows issue No. 10 with Kafka, now revealed as Kaiju No. 8, captured by the Self-Defense Forces. Regardless of the circumstances, Mina tells Kafka that she believes he is innocent and will do everything she can to help him., Hoshina and Team 3 even greeted Kafka when he was brought back to headquarters. Thanks to that, even while shedding tears, Kafka still held out hope that he would get through this and return to the Self-Defense Forces as a soldier.
After Kafka was captured, Everyone in Team Three begins working to try to free Kafka. Mina takes every file she has on Kafka to write a report; Aoi tries to get a friend from the JSDF to help them; Kikoru even went to meet Isao Shinomiya, the leader of the Self-Defense Forces, to personally ask him for clemency for Kafka. Unfortunately, Kafka's X-rays show that his heart has turned into a Kaiju core, so as far as Isao is concerned, Kafka is no longer human and needs to be treated like a Kaiju.
After Isao declared Kafka Hibino a Kaiju and not a human, Isao challenged Kafka to a fight to give him a chance to prove his humanity. Kafka tried not to use his Kaiju powers, but with Isao using a suit and gloves made from the legendary No. 2 Kaiju, Kafka had to transform to protect himself. However, in doing so, the Kaiju bug that gave Kafka his powers appeared in his mind and overwhelmed him, and as a result, Kafka goes berserk in his Kaiju form and attacks Isao with murderous intent..
Kaiju No. 8 delivers on its biggest mystery in a major way
With everything that happened in Kaiju #8 #11, one thing worth noting is the return of the Kaiju bug that started it all. Issue #11 did a great job of fleshing out the mystery of the Kaiju bug and hopefully this won't be the last time it's solved.
