Fantasy comics Helck by Nanaki Nanao is getting an anime adaptation, 4 years after the series ended. The manga has been serialized on the MangaONE app and in Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday magazine from 2014 to 2017. There is currently no word on the anime’s production.
Both the author and Sho Kobayashi, an editor working at Ura Sunday magazine, where the manga is serialized, posted the announcement on Twitter along with a special illustration to celebrate the news:

As mentioned above, manga Helck serialized from May 5, 2014 to December 8, 2017 and has a total of 106 chapters compiled into 12 volumes. The story is set in the Demon Realm, where a new King is being elected. Helck, a muscular and strong man, enters the contest while declaring that he wants to destroy all mankind. Vamirio, one of the Four Heavenly Kings and the judge of the competition, notices Helck and wonders what his motives are. What is your secret?
Nanaki Nanao expanded the Helck universe with a Piwi spin-off miniseries in 2018 and a manga sequel focusing on Cleo Völundio and Kohaku, titled Iken Senki Völundio (publishing in 2020).
