WARNING: SPOILERS FOR EGGHEAD ISLAND ARC
Summary
The four Road Poneglyphs hold the coordinates to find the location of One Piece, the island of Laugh Tale. Only four red cubes exist, each hidden in nearly inaccessible locations. The Straw Hats, the Blackbeard Pirates, and Red Hair Shanks are the closest to finding the Pirate King's treasure.
A pieceThe Great Pirate Age began when the former Pirate King tasked the world with finding his treasure, prompting countless pirates like Luffy to pursue it and a life of adventure, and author Eiichiro Oda has revealed exactly how to find one piece. The incredibly dangerous and unpredictable waters of the New World oceans require world-class navigators and an incredibly capable crew to sail. But it takes more than that to Find Laugh Tale Island, the location of One Piece.
While the story begins with the light-hearted adventure of Monkey D. Luffy setting out to begin his journey to become the Pirate King, One Piece adds some intriguing mysteries along with its top-notch world building. One of the series' biggest mysteries involves the events of the Void Century and the giant Poneglyphs contain information directly related to the location of the Pirate King's final treasure..
The conclusion of the Alabasta arc and Crocodile's overarching plot lead to the revelation of the Poneglyphs, ancient cubes written in a dead language. The Warlord of the Sea hoped that Alabasta's secret cube would reveal the location of the ancient weapon Pluton, and while his goal was met with disappointment, the development of the plot opened the door to a crucial clue in finding One Piece.
How to Find One Piece Location
The story Journey to Laughter is a complex one.
The Alabasta Poneglyph is a rare archaeological treasure to encounter, but the much rarer Red Road Poneglyph is a greater challenge to find. Big Mom's henchman Tamago revealed in chapter #846 that there are thirty Poneglyphs, but There are only four Road Poneglyphs believed to exist in the One Piece world. While the forbidden information on the cubes may hold the answers to centuries-old questions, they also include the coordinates of four locations that can be used to pinpoint the exact location of Laugh Tale.
No average sailor could hope to find all four Red Poneglyphs, as they are hidden in locations that are normally inaccessible, but that doesn't stop Gol D. Roger and the rest of his crew. Throughout Luffy's adventures across the Grand Line and the New World, hints of the legendary adventures of the Pirate King Gol D. Roger help prove that the Straw Hats are on the right track. The journey also effectively builds up the danger and fierce competition from others seeking the information needed to find the legendary treasure of the series.
Where to find each Red Road Poneglyph
All four Road Poneglyphs must be discovered by the next Pirate King.
Although Luffy's journey through the East Blue and the Grand Line has explored dangerous paths and locations like Skypiea that defy imagination, the Straw Hats didn't encounter their first Road Poneglyph until the twenty-eighth arc of One Piece on the floating island of Zou. The crew discovered it after playing a major role in helping the samurai refugees of Wano and their anthropomorphic Mink tribe allies. However, it won't be the hardest Poneglyph to find.
In the following arcs, the Straw Hats discovered two more Road Poneglyphs. A daring attempt to rescue Sanji from the Big Mom Pirates' home and headquarters, Whole Cake Island, gave Luffy's crew a second important clue to the location of Laugh Tale. The notoriously powerful leader of the Big Mom Pirates had obtained one of the legendary red cubes and kept it safe in his vault, but that wasn't enough to stop One Piece's most musical skeleton, Brook, from stealing its vital information.
While infiltrating and escaping Big Mom's territory was an overwhelming and risky endeavor, it was just an appetizer for the amount of trouble the Straw Hats would encounter in Wano. It took an alliance with some of Luffy's fellow Worst Generation pirates, but Wano's decades of oppression at the hands of the Pirate Emperor Kaido was finally brought to an end. This major victory also allowed the heroes to reach the Red Poneglyph hidden deep under Wano in a secret space that also contained the ancient Weapon of Mass Destruction known as Pluton.
A flashback to Oden's time in Roger's crew reveals that one of the legendary red cubes was on Fishman Island, but it was taken when the Straw Hats arrived and saved the island from a devastating civil war. Big Mom claimed that territory after Whitebeard's death, so It is possible that the Road Poneglyph on Whole Cake Island is the same as the previous Road Poneglyph on Fish-Men Island.. If that's the case, the location of the fourth red cube remains unknown, but many leading theories suggest that it's hiding on Elbaf, an island that One Piece fans have long been waiting to see.
The Only People Who Can Read the Poneglyphs
Without a way to decipher the cubes, the Poneglyphs would be useless.
The World Government has gone to great lengths to conceal the true events of the Void Century and any trace of the advanced civilization that once inhabited the world for hundreds of years. The dead language scrawled on the Poneglyphs has been censored and erased from history. However, scholars who once lived on Ohara, Robin's home island, were able to decipher it before the World Government destroyed the island and its people. Robin is the only survivor capable of reading the Poneglyphs. But there are still other methods to extract the necessary information from ancient cubes.
Gol D. Roger had no talented archaeologist like Robin in his crew. However, One Piece's still-unexplained “Voice of All Things” seems to be a universal form of communication that allows individuals, animals, and even specific items like Road Poneglyphs to communicate in some way. Luffy and Kozuki Momonosuke can hear the Voice of All ThingsBut Roger's ability to do so has been shown to be far beyond what other characters can do.
Momonosuke's father, Kozuki Oden, is also shown to have the ability to hear the Voice of All Things.
Despite her penchant for senseless, violent rebellion, Big Mom has clever plans to take over One Piece. One such plan involves her seventy-sixth child, Charlotte Pudding, a member of a near-extinct race known as the Three-Eyed Tribe. When Pudding's powers develop enough, her third eye will awaken, allowing her to read and communicate effectively with the Voice of All Things. Although she has yet to unlock this ability, in a clever move, the Blackbeard Pirates kidnap Pudding, a crucial tactic that puts Blackbeard in the race to be one of the closest to finding Roger's treasure.
Who was the closest person to finding One Piece after the Egghead arc?
Some pirates are getting closer than ever to finding the Laugh Tale.
So far, the exciting and dangerous adventures of Monkey D. Luffy has gained access to three of the four Road Poneglyphs needed to find One Piece.. Luffy's Straw Hat Pirates were certainly one of the closest groups to finding the exact location of Laugh Tale, but they did not achieve it alone. The information from the red cubes that Luffy's crew obtained was shared with the other pirates of the Worst Generation, Trafalgar Law and Eustass Kid, but that important information did not stay with those pirates for long.
The Egghead Island arc featured some unexpected battles that involved major characters that fans didn't expect to see. Blackbeard's terrifying display of power overwhelmed Law's crew and took their Poneglyph information in a shocking scene where the One Piece anime made Luffy's biggest threat even more terrifying. Kid's crew surrendered their information to arguably Luffy's greatest inspiration, Red-Haired Shanks, on Elbaf after he single-handedly made an example of their captain.
Luffy, Blackbeard, and Shanks have all made strong moves toward a very exciting race to claim One Piece. However, the unpredictable World Government leader Imu and Pirate Emperor Buggy the Clown will likely play a major role in the series' final story, but only one will emerge victorious at that point. A piece to the end.
