A recent major leak claims that the anime adaptation of “Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End)” will have a second season and is currently in production. The leak also states that CloverWorks will continue to produce second seasons for the anime adaptations of “Bocchi the Rock!” and “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru (My Dress-Up Darling)”, after the end of “Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi (The Elusive Samurai)”.
For Sousou no Frieren, Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe began publishing the manga through Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in April 2020 and it is still being serialized. An anime adaptation by Madhouse aired in Fall 2023 (October – December) with a total of 28 episodes, achieving great success.
Back in March this year, the official website for the anime Sousou no Frieren posted a cryptic status: “The journey to Ende continues”, almost implicitly confirming that the anime would have a sequel.
Regarding Bocchi the Rock!, Aki Hamaji began publishing the manga through Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Max magazine in December 2017. A 12-episode anime adaptation produced by CloverWorks aired in Fall 2022 (October – December) in Japan.
The anime adaptation received overwhelming support from audiences, making Bocchi The Rock one of the most successful animated titles of the year.
Two compilation films were then produced, released in June 2024 and August 2024 in Japanese theaters.
The anime adaptation My Dress-Up Darling premiered in Winter 2022 (January – March), with a total of 12 episodes, and was critically acclaimed, to the point of being considered a “phenomenon” in the anime community that year. Author Shinichi Fukuda has been publishing the manga in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine since January 2018. A sequel project for the anime adaptation is currently in production.
The production team of My Dress-Up Darling season 2 is almost unchanged, the film will continue the content of the previous season. Wakana will accompany Marin to try out new cosplays and develop relationships with friends around.
