Summary
Tower of God: Return of the Prince is a great follow-up to the first season with great writing and animation. The second season has a more generic art style than the first season, but not to the point where it becomes unwatchable. Tower of God season 2 could easily be as good as the first season if it maintained a consistent level of quality.
Here's a spoiler-free review of Tower of God season 2, episodes #1-#2. After a four-year hiatus, Tower of God Tower of God: Return of the Prince is finally back with its second installment, Tower of God: Return of the Prince. Taking place six years after the first installment, Bam, now under the guise of Jue Viole Grace, has mysteriously joined the terrorist organization FUG, and his new path sees him form an unlikely bond with Ja Wangnan, an ambitious Regular who dreams of becoming king of the tower.
Tower of God: Return of the Prince continues the story of Tower of God season 1 in the most natural way possible, even if the change of studio from Telecom Animation Film to The Answer Studio makes things look significantly different.
That said, just from the first two episodes, Tower of God: Return of the Prince Looks like it has the same great script and directing that made season 1 a successAnd if it can maintain that quality throughout its run, season 2 will surely be just as big, if not bigger, a hit.
Tower Of God Season 2 Still Has Style, But Everything Feels Different In Season 2
There is a noticeable change in the visual and animation style of Tower of God.
As mentioned earlier, Tower of God: Return of the Prince was animated by The Answer Studio instead of Telecom Animation Film, and that effect is immediately apparent. While season 1 had a unique, fluid art style that allowed for creative visuals, Tower of God: Return of the Prince There is now a much more general art style in The Answer Studiothis takes away one of the anime's most unique features. This can especially be seen in the way shinsu is portrayed in season 2, as it now has almost none of the brilliance it had in season 1.
Of course, that doesn't mean that season 2's art and animation look bad. While season 2 may not be as aesthetically pleasing as season 1, the art never looks bad by any means, and animation for Tower of God: Return of the Prince Still has much of the same fluency and overall polish as part 1especially when it comes to the fight scenes. If the animation can maintain that level of quality throughout season 2, it will make up for the artwork losing a lot of its identity.
The characters in Tower Of God are still as great as they were in Part 2
Produced by The Answer Studio; based on the original series by SIU
What did the best job of selling the first two volumes of Tower of God: Return of the Prince was the new cast of characters. Ja Wangnan is the complete opposite of Bam with the goofy, ambitious, and cowardly way he was created to be, but that not only made for a lot of fun, but also The contrast between Bam and Wangnan's characters does a great job of keeping Tower of God's story from feeling too repetitive. Add to that the comedic, dramatic, and action-packed characters like Ehwa, Horyang, and Prince that contribute to the story, and there's a lot to love about the new cast.
Of course, Bam is still the main character of the series and his new character has been great to watch so far. Thanks to what Bam has been forced to do for the past six years with FUG, Bam has transformed from a naive idealist into a dark and violent character in Tower of God: Return of the Princeand his powers also increase greatly to be the center of some great fight scenes. There's a lot of mystery behind how Bam became Jue Viole Grace, and seeing how that plays out will definitely be cool.
Overall, Tower of God: Return of the Prince is off to a good start, albeit a bit uneven. The change in art style is a bit jarring, especially since it loses a lot of what made season 1 stand out, but even so, Smooth animation and great character writing Tower of God: Return of the Prince still makes it fun to watch like season 1. There is still much to love. Tower of God Even after all these years, and with any luck, part 2 will still keep that going until the very end.
