Kodoani.com – Aniplex just released a teaser for the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht: Rising (Japanese title: Gekijōban Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten), the official sequel to Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellionduring the broadcast Aniplex Online Fest on Monday. The video introduces all-new footage, including appearances by new characters.
The anime was previously scheduled to premiere in Japan in winter 2024, but due to a delay in August, the film's release date was pushed back to winter 2025. Yukihiro Miyamotowho directed related works such as Puella Madoka Magica and Magic Record, will continue to helm this film.
The film will feature the return of production staff from the original series and previous films, including the creative team Magica QuartetBig names like Akiyuki Simbo (main director), Gen Urobuchi (screenwriter), Ume Aoki (original character design), Junichirou Taniguchi (animation character design), Yuki Kajiura (composer), and Gekidan Inu Curry (alternative space design) are all involved. The film was produced by the film studio SHAFT.

Anime Magical Girl Madoka12 episodes long, premiered in January 2011. It was followed by two compilation films Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginnings and Part 2: Eternal in October 2012, followed by the film Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion premiered in October 2013. These products have all been Aniplex of America released in North America, and Funimation also streamed the series.
Additionally, the TV anime adaptation of the mobile game Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story premiered in January 2020, with the second season premiering in July 2021, and the third and final season airing in April 2022.
Mobile Games Magic Record launched in Japan in August 2017, and the English version was released in the US and Canada in June 2019. However, the English service ended in September 2020, while the Japanese version also shut down in July. Currently, the new game Magical Girl Madoka: The Magic Room expected to be released this year.
