Returning after nearly 3 years, this magical epic is highly anticipated for many reasons, most notably the plot it will cover. For almost six consecutive months, the series has been dominating social media with each passing episode and surpassing its previous releases.
Although there are other series worthy of this title, such as Vinland Saga season 2, Jujutsu Kaisen is chosen by thousands of anime fans worldwide for standing above the rest in 2023.

The first five episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 include the Hidden Inventory arc, which goes into more detail about Gojo Satoru’s backstory and his relationship with villain Geto Suguru. While it’s mainly meant to clarify what happens afterward, it’s still entertaining and makes Gojo a much more complex character. The series also introduced the very famous Toji Fushijguro, who defeated Gojo, also known as Megumi’s father.
Finally, the long-awaited Shibuya Incident has been adapted. Hailed as Jujutsu Kaisen’s best installment, the anime manages to elevate the infamous story thanks to MAPPA’s pristine production values. Spectacular animations, impeccable musical composition, top notch voice acting and breathtaking visuals. It’s easy to tell that there’s a lot of passion and effort behind it to deliver an incredible experience that will stick with fans for years to come.
The winners are decided through a public vote open to everyone, with fans able to vote every day until the closing date.
It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, however, as the series has been dogged by accusations and accusations of terrible working conditions. Many animators came forward to expose MAPPA for their inhumane practices and were given very little time to work. This did not prevent them from meeting the high expectations of their fans, and viewers were forever grateful for their hard work.
