Cause and effect
A major winter storm has hit the southern United States, including states such as Texas, southern Oklahoma and Georgia, with heavy snowfall and extreme weather. Consequences include:
More than 3,000 flights were canceled
Widespread power outage in states such as Texas, Georgia, and Arkansas Continued snowfall forecasts will affect other areas over the weekend
Related to Crunchyroll
Crunchyroll's internal dubbing studio is located in Texas, which is directly affected by extreme weather. The majority of the company's voice team also lives in this area. This has led to disruptions in the production of dubbing episodes.
Crunchyroll switched to live recording in spring 2022, after COVID-19 restrictions were lifted. However, natural factors such as winter storms can still have a strong impact on their operations.
Historic winter storm
A similar winter storm from February 13-17, 2021, caused severe damage in the southern United States, especially in Texas, with more than 200 deaths and prolonged power outages.
Crunchyroll has not given a specific date for the new release schedule, but will update information when the situation improves.
