The manga “Jujutsu No Kaisen”, a fan-created project, has attracted the attention of the anime and manga community due to its ambitious goals.
According to its creators, this manga not only rewrites but also “improves” the official ending of Jujutsu Kaisen. This initiative arose in response to some readers' criticism of the ending presented by author Gege Akutami in the original manga.
However, the launch of the first chapter of this project generated mixed reactions, with negative reactions predominating.
Criticism of Akutami's ending included Satoru Gojo's death which was deemed weak, lack of development, and the wastefulness of several characters. In response, a group of fans decided to record their own perspective on the story in this fan comic. The manga covers the events from Gojo's defeat at the hands of Ryomen Sukuna and his conversation in the afterlife with Suguru Geto.
Despite initial enthusiasm, the first chapter of the project was harshly criticized. Some pointed out issues such as poor characterization of key characters such as Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo. Or the introduction of a new ability for Sukuna (when many thought Akutami made the Curse King too powerful) and the dialogue lacking the typical Jujutsu nature. Kaisen.
Additionally, there have been allegations that Jujutsu No Kaisen was created using artificial intelligence, although this has not been confirmed.
Another controversial point is the timing of the release of this fan manga right after Akutami revealed in the latest episode of “Jujutsu Kaisen” that he suffered from serious mental health problems while make this series. Although projects like this are not intended as a direct attack on the author, some fans believe that this initiative is disrespectful of the author's work and personal situation.
It should be noted that this is not the first time a fandom has taken these measures. Similar projects have appeared in the community from series such as “Attack on Titan” and “KonoSuba”. However, in the case of “Jujutsu No Kaisen”, many people believe that it cannot overcome or resolve the criticisms of the original ending.
Despite the division it has caused within the community, fans have the freedom to interpret the story however they want. However, it is important to remember that this type of project does not change or replace the original manga and will likely continue to be a topic of debate in the coming days.
