The third season of the One Punch Man anime is one of the most anticipated returns to the anime world, with Saitama preparing to continue his fight against the Monster Association. It's been more than five years since the second season of this viral anime series debuted, which means fans have been waiting for the return of Saint Puff Saitama for quite some time.
As the anime adaptation continues to excite fans with its third season, JC Staff releases new character posters for the anime's biggest heroes. In a shocking reveal, one of anime's most controversial heroes is getting a major makeover for his return in the upcoming episodes.
One Punch Man anime fans have yet to see “Superalloy Blackluster” in action, but the hero has appeared in previous seasons of the anime adaptation.
He is ranked as one of the top S-class crime-fighting heroes in the One Punch Man world.
Now, a new poster seems to have given this hero sometimes called “Darkshine” a makeover. The manufacturer has yet to officially comment on why the change was made, but it seems pretty easy to figure out the reason. If you've taken a look at the original One Punch Man manga, you'll know that Blackluster has some big moments in its upcoming third season if JC Staff wants to stick to the source material.
Changes in the third season of Superalloy Blackluster's One Punch Man
JC Staff has released a brand new poster of “Superalloy Blackluster” as the S-Rank hero prepares to face off against both monsters and heroic hunters in the third season. As you can see from both the poster below and the Darkshine title image used from previous seasons, this hulking hero looks quite different from his previous appearance.
According to the description, Superalloy Darkshine is a very tall and muscular man. His entire body was tanned and gave off a shiny glow. His head is bald, he has full lips, dark eyes and bushy eyebrows. His strength comes from his efforts to train his muscles and constantly surpass his limits.
Currently, the animation studio has yet to reveal a release date for the highly anticipated return, although Saitama looks set to return at some point this year after a rather long absence.
