We don’t even know how and when the attack happened to him. Seeing the end result was shocking, but at the same time, it made no sense. It’s hard to process what happened during the battle, leaving our beloved character in such a terrible state.
We don’t even get to see Gojo say his last words to his students. Furthermore, the fight between the two was not a personal revenge on which the future of Jujutsu society depended on the outcome. So, Gojo’s death failed to achieve the level of impact it was supposed to have. Being one of the most famous personalities, he was not able to accomplish any of his goals.
Not only that, we don’t even see a reaction from his students and other witches. The match is being broadcast to everyone thanks to Mei Mei’s cursed move. We only see Yuji’s pained expression and Yuta drawing his sword while Maki tries to calm him down. But what about the others? The lack of reaction failed to create the emotional impact needed to continue the tragedy Gojo’s death Strong Jujutsu Kaisen.
Additionally, the technique or ability to “cut through space” is not used at all and just appears out of nowhere. As if Gojo’s death must be combined strongly, making things even more disappointing. The entire fight was paced perfectly until chapter 235 but the ending was too rushed. The only good thing is that Gojo doesn’t regret his death but instead rejoices that he died at the hands of someone stronger.
Gojo’s fans are still hoping he will pull another surprise stunt like last time against Toji. However, that is simply not possible. The Reversal Curse can save a person from a fatal wound but cannot bring someone back to life. Gojo is gone forever and he won’t come back. However, it’s still possible that his death would have made more sense if we had had flashbacks. But that probably won’t happen soon.
