Kodoani.com – The October issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine announced on Monday that the manga Orient Shinobu Ohtaka's manga will end in the next issue, which ships on October 9. The manga was launched by Magi's creator in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in May 2018 and then transferred to Bessatsu Shōnen in February 2021. The manga entered its final arc in July 2023, and Kodansha published the 21st volume on May 9.
Kodansha USA Publishing has been releasing the Orient manga in English, and released the 19th volume on April 16. The manga's story is described as follows:
Musashi, a teenager living under the rule of demons, promised his best friend Kojiro as a child to become the world's greatest warriors and defeat the demons. However, as he grew up, Kojiro became skeptical, and Musashi gradually faced the realities of life, preparing to become a miner. But Musashi could not ignore his responsibility to the injustice of the world, and soon had to take action to fulfill his promise.
An anime adaptation of the Orient manga aired in Japan in January 2022, and Crunchyroll streamed both the original and the English dub. The second season of the anime, which covers the manga's “Awajishima Gekitō-hen” (Fierce Battle of Awaji Island), premiered in July 2022 and is also streamed by Crunchyroll.
