Weekly Shonen Jump magazine will publish the final chapter of the My Hero Academia manga on August 5
Kodoani.com – Shueisha announced on Monday via a “Jump Press” video that the manga My Hero Academia by Kōhei Horikoshi will end in five more chapters. The final chapter will appear in combined issues 36 and 37 of the magazine Weekly Shonen Jumpscheduled for release on August 5.
Horikoshi revealed that the manga would “end shortly” from the announcement on June 3, as the manga entered its final phase. Currently, the manga is on a two-week break and will return on July 1.
Horikoshi launched My Hero Academia on Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014. In April this year, the manga surpassed the 100 million circulation mark worldwide, confirming its immense popularity.
Success and Influence
My Hero Academia has inspired six television anime seasons and several special episodes. The seventh season of the anime debuted on April 6 with a four-episode special titled My Hero Academia Memories. Following that, the main part of the seventh season (starting from episode 139 of the entire series) debuted on May 4.
The manga has also inspired three anime films. The fourth anime film, titled My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: You’re Next (My Hero Academia: You're Next), scheduled for release on August 2. Horikoshi will once again serve as general supervisor and original character designer for this film.
