This decision was intended to allow Murata time to make the many necessary adjustments and preparations. The manga is expected to return on the same day August 22.
History of Manga Development
One-Punch Man was originally a webcomic produced by ONE created in 2009. Then the manga was Yusuke Murata illustrated and debuted on “Tonari no Young Jump”'s website Shueisha in 2012. This version is a remake of the original webcomic, with more detailed graphics and an expanded storyline.
Shueisha will release the manga's 31st compiled book volume on July 4 year 2024.
Viz Media is currently releasing the manga digitally and in print in North America.
Success and Influence
One-Punch Man has become a global phenomenon with the love of not only manga fans but also anime fans.
Anime Adaptation
The anime's first season aired in Japan from October to December 2015. Viz Media and Daisuki aired the anime outside of Japan. The anime launched with an English dub on the block Toonami belong to Adult Swim in July 2016. The second season of the anime began with a television special in April 2019, and the first episode of the season aired a week later.
One-Punch Man There will be a third season with some cast and staff returning from previous seasons.
Live-Action Adaptation
Manga One-Punch Man is also being adapted into a live-action film by Hollywood.
According to information from The Hollywood Reporter on April 12, the live-action film is currently being rewritten by Dan Harmon (co-creator of Rick and Morty and creator of Community) and screenwriter Heather Anne Campbell (used to work for Rick and Morty, The Twilight Zone, The Eric Andre Show).
The suspension of One-Punch Man provides an opportunity for Yūsuke Murata and the production team to improve quality and prepare for the next chapters in the best way. Although fans will have to wait a little longer, this also creates conditions for the manga to return stronger and more attractive. In the meantime, fans can re-watch previous episodes or catch up on other related projects like anime or live-action.
