The main cast of Sword Art Online are gearing up for their next adventure in a spectacular collaboration with luxury tableware maker Noritake. A range of exquisite cups and plates will feature images inspired by Kirito, Asuna, and many more.
Now available through the Arma Bianca online store, the Sword Art Online x Noritake collaboration features character-themed drinks based on the animated television series. This lavish collection comes in three sets of two: Kirito and Asuna, Asuna and Konno Yuuki, and Kirito and Eugeo. Each cup and saucer reflects the characters' motifs, with unique motifs for each relationship. Pre-orders are now available until October 10, 2024. Each set costs 35,200 yen (~US$249) and will ship around February 2025.
Sword Art Online Gets New Isekai Anime Tableware Inspired by Three Main Couples in the Series
The character lineup for this Sword Art Online x Noritake teacup and tea plate collaboration is interesting. Of course, Kitiro and Asuna are featured prominently as the main anime couple. However, the following teacup sets showcase the male-female friendships of Asuna and Yuuki and Kirito and Eugeo. True to the source material, Asuna and Yuuki develop a strong bond in Sword Art Online II, while Kirito and Eugeo also form a brotherly relationship in Sword Art Online Alicization. Yuuki and Eugeo both share a sense of tragedy in their respective histories in the story.
Eugeo and Yuuki have appeared in other related media, such as Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, which is available on PlayStation, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Yuuki is also a playable fighter in Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax via downloadable content for PlayStation consoles. Even within its own animated universe, the Sword Art Online series continues to expand with Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II, a new season of the spin-off set to premiere in 2018. Tomori Kusunoki, best known as the voice actor for Makima in Chainsaw Man, will reprise his role as Karen “LLENN” Kohiruimaki in the television anime sequel.
Sword Art Online isn't the only anime franchise to get such fancy tableware. Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist series got the perfect drinkware from Castem Co., LTD. The “Cup of Alphonse” is exactly that—a cup modeled after the armored body of Alphonse Elric, the youngest of the Elric brothers. More specifically, this sake cup is based on Al's iconic monster-inspired helmet. You can still order it through Rakuten right now.
The Sword Art Online anime and movies are available on streaming sites like Crunchyroll and Hulu/Disney+. Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II will air in October 2024. Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream will be released in 2024 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
